ca38cf59de30b1c3e6dd593f00ed3cecI know, I have no excuse for not posting on this blog sooner.  I mean good grief you’d think I took summer vacation or something 🙂

Seriously though…How is everyone? I’ve missed posting here and there has been oh so much going on.  What’s on tap? Well, writing of course.  The curse for any author is that in order to stay relevant, you must write! Stephen King for example personifies the idea of the prolific writer.  On the other hand, George RR Martin (Game of Thrones) may not write as much or publish as quickly but his expansive world makes you re-read so much that you almost don’t care…almost. So what am I trying to say with all this? Well, I’ve been writing although not what I intended at the beginning of the year. I still haven’t revised Silence of Fear or submitted Relativity to the agent who requested it, but I have finished a short story paranormal for The Hunt 2, the second anthology in the Thrill of the Hunt series and Lily’s Grace-A Hotel Paranormal romance for a series I’m participating in.

Oh yeah…and I started my own press, Palmas Publishing. http://www.palmaspress.com

newpalm-logo-working-copy-copyThat resulted in a ripple effect with regard to writing and publishing. I am currently translating a children’s book into Spanish thanks to a referral to Palmas Publishing and am expanding services as it were.  Oh, did I mention that I will be at Indie Bookfest October 7 & 8 signing and presenting on several panels? http://www.indiebookconvention.com

And I will be doing a World Building workshop during the Florida Writers Association Conference http://www.floridawriters.net on October 22nd.   Busy, busy, busy.  Add in the squirrels that pop in throughout the day, holding down a full time job and my family, there need to be three of me. Oy!

But, with the year winding down it is time to reflect, reassess and plan for the new year. Indie publishing is most definitely not for the faint hearted. Being an author certainly isn’t. Some advice? Follow your dreams and your heart.  You may get frazzled, exhausted and exasperated, but you will never go wrong.
